However, the term keratin treatment is actually a misnomer. While a keratin treatment does smooth and a shine to frizzy hair, the treatment itself does not use keratin.
To make hair straighter, a solution containing glyoxylic acid is worked through the hair to break the bonds and reseal them in a straighter position. After that, you get a nice blow dry and it all gets sealed up with a flat iron.
Results can last anywhere from three to six months and are suitable for most hair types, especially for those who want to reduce frizz, boost shine, or cut out blow-drying or straightening their hair on a regular basis.

While keratin smoothing is suitable for most hair types, it is recommended that no chemical straightening or henna is present in the hair as it can react to the product. Step two is the application, where your experienced keratin smoothing stylist will take care in applying and processing the treatment.
Depending on your hair length, we recommend allowing around 2 hours for this service.
To prep your hair, we will remove any impurities from the hair and then allow the keratin treatment to sit for 15 minutes to be absorbed – then a quick rinse followed by a blow dry and ironing before one final shampoo and leave-in treatment.
It should be noted that while the keratin smoothing treatment does not straighten hair, it can relax curls and waves, smoothing the overall hair structure.
