December is our busiest month of the year, and the best appointment times are usually gone by mid-November. If you want fresh colour, extensions or a blow-dry before Christmas, this is your reminder to book now.
Below are our 2026 Christmas dates, how far ahead to book each service and a few ways to make your hair last through party season.
Our Christmas 2026 Dates
| What | Date |
|---|---|
| Extended hours, 9am to 9pm | Tuesday 15, Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 December, then Monday 21 and Tuesday 22 December |
| Friday 18 December | 8am to 6pm |
| Last day for colour appointments | Wednesday 23 December, 9am |
| Last day open before Christmas | Wednesday 23 December, 8am to 12pm |

| First day back | Wednesday 6 January 2027, normal hours |
Our normal hours are Tuesday 8am to 3pm, Wednesday and Thursday 10am to 9pm, and Friday 8am to 6pm. In the lead-up to Christmas we stay open later and add Monday 21 December, a day we are normally closed. Evening appointments are the first to go.
How Far Ahead to Book Each Service
Colour and foils: book now for a date 1 to 2 weeks before your main event. That gives the colour time to settle and leaves room for a toner tweak if you want one. New colour clients need a skin test at least 48 hours before their appointment. See our colour and foils page.
Hair extensions: each set is customised, so start with a free consultation at least 2 weeks before you want your extensions fitted. If you already wear extensions, book your maintenance for early December. More on our hair extensions page.
Smoothing treatments: nanoplasty and keratin take longer in the chair, so they need a longer booking. Results last for months, which makes early December a good time to have one done before the humidity peaks.
Cuts: a trim in the first half of December keeps your shape fresh through to the new year.
Blow-dries and party styling: book these for the day of your event. Our $47 blow dry is a 45 minute appointment and runs Wednesday to Friday between 9:30am and 3pm. Curls or straightening are $10 extra. See hair styling and blowouts.
Make One Appointment Cover the Whole Season
Most of us have more than one event in December: a work party, school break-up, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. A little planning means one colour appointment can cover all of them.
- Book your colour for the week of your first event, not your last.
- Add a treatment to your colour appointment so your hair holds shine for longer.
- Pre-book a blow-dry for your biggest night.
- Ask your stylist to show you one easy style you can repeat at home.
Looking After Your Hair Over the Holidays
Sun, salt water and chlorine are hard on colour, and blondes notice it first. Rinse your hair with fresh water before and after a swim, and use a colour-safe shampoo and conditioner. Our guide to keeping blonde hair looking fresh has more detail, and if you wear extensions, read can I swim or shower with hair extensions? before you head to the coast.
Gift Vouchers and Stocking Fillers
If you are shopping for someone else, a Savvy gift voucher can be bought online in a couple of minutes. Our online shop stocks Kérastase, L’Oréal Professionnel and ghd, with free shipping on orders over $200.
Book Your Christmas Appointment
